On January 12th, Mappointasia (MPA) organized a workshop with presentations at the Geo-Informatics Space Technology Agency (GISTDA), Chon Buri, Thailand on efficient geomatics technologies that can support economic development and monitoring. The idea was to present satellite imagery, radar plus LiDAR / Digital Air Photo (DAP) to demonstrate where each service would be most effective as related to accuracy and effectiveness. This initiative was developed by GISTDA which will allow the agency evaluate and assess the best technology for EECi economic development.

MPA addressed opportunities offered by satellite Imagery, Intermap presented radar technology and PTMI presented LiDAR and DAP as developed for infrastructure involving urban development, water resources, irrigation, flood monitoring amongst others.
